Chelsea face Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge as Mauricio Pochettino eyes a third win in a row in all competitions.

After going without a win in their opening two matches, Chelsea have found wins over Luton Town and AFC Wimbledon in their last two games.

Pochettino has been happy with the progress that he has seen from his team and the Blues will be keen to claim a third straight win and secure their second Premier League win of the 2023/24 campaign.

“Because of the circumstances we have, we are happy,” the Chelsea boss said pre-match. “Even if we don’t progress at the speed we want. To progress we need all of the players fit to evolve in the way we play and to have the capacity to train with the whole team and to create an environment they can compete and improve.

“It is true we are now more focused on competing and trying to get positive results. That will help us for the players to arrive into the team to be in a different mood. Now is the process we need to compete, not the best circumstances, but I’m not going to complain.”

He added: “Yes of course, disappointed with the game against West Ham but after that we are progressing and at the same time adapting players to these circumstances.”

They come up against Steve Cooper’s side who have signed Andrey Santos, who will be ineligible for Saturday’s clash, on loan from Chelsea, as well as Callum Hudson-Odoi on deadline day.
