Hudson-Odoi & Gallagher receive transfer interest as Pochettino makes Chelsea pre-season decision

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Conor Gallagher have been linked with moves away from Chelsea this summer.

The overhaul, which is being overseen by new head coach Mauricio Pochettino, is well underway after the summer transfer window opened last week.

N’Golo Kante’s departure to Al-Ittihad has already been confirmed, while Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly and Hakim Ziyech are on the verge of also making the switch to Saudi Arabia. Man City have reached an agreement for £30 million to sign Mateo Kovacic.

Kai Havertz is closing in on a move to Arsenal, with the clubs finalising a deal worth around £65 million for the 24-year-old.

Two other futures which will need resolving this summer are Hudson-Odoi and Gallagher’s.

Hudson-Odoi spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen and he has now returned ahead of talks with the club over his future.

As reported by Sky Sports, Hudson-Odoi and his representatives are expected to speak to Chelsea in the next week to discuss his future.

There is interest from a number of clubs in the Premier League, Bundesliga and Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, as reported by Sky in Germany, Gallagher is the subject of interest from Borussia Dortmund following the departures of Jude Bellingham and Mahmoud Dahoud.

However, with Chelsea reportedly valuing Gallagher at £50 million, it could prove to a transfer that’s too expensive to complete. Several Premier League clubs have also show interest.

While on international duty with England, Gallagher was quizzed about his future in west London, telling reporters: “I’m a Chelsea player and I love Chelsea.

“It’s been a really tough season for me and the whole team and club. We’ll work as hard as we can to get Chelsea back to where they belong.”

The 23-year-old is looking forward to working with new Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino, who officially begins on July 1.

Gallagher added: “He’s a top manager, everyone at Chelsea is happy he’s here and we’re looking forward to working with him.

As revealed by Nizaar Kinsella, Chelsea’s senior players are due to begin preparations for the new season on July 3. A team meeting with take place before pre-season training begins a day later.
