Reece James, Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling have penned their goodbyes to N’Golo Kante after his Chelsea exit was confirmed.

The 32-year-old’s switch to Al-Ittihad was confirmed on Tuesday, which saw Kante pen a three-year contract in Saudi Arabia, bringing an end to a seven-year spell at Chelsea.

Kante’s absence will be felt at Stamford Bridge despite his injury problems in recent seasons, with the midfielder departing when his contract expires next week.

Chelsea are overseeing an overhaul this summer, with fellow midfielders Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount likely to leave.

After both clubs confirmed the news within the space of 12 hours of each other, Kante’s Chelsea teammates took to social media to express their sadness and wish the France international well for his new chapter.

James, Mount and Sterling were among many players to take to Instagram.

“Nicest guy in football,” wrote James. “Such a pleasure to share a dressing room and play alongside you. Good luck brother, you’ll be missed.”

Mount added: “Legend”.

Sterling concluded: “All the best for the future”.
