N’Golo Kante has written his goodbyes to Chelsea after signing a three-year deal with Saudi side Al-Ittihad.

The 32-year-old will leave Chelsea when his contract expires at Stamford Bridge next week. He has signed a contract with Al-Ittihad and will join on a free transfer from July 1.

Kante’s seven-year spell at Stamford Bridge saw him win the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup, Super Cup and Club World Cup, which sees him leave as a club legend.

His Chelsea teammates have one-by-one taken to social media to wish him well and say their goodbyes after both clubs confirmed the transfer this week.

On Kante’s departure, co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley told the club’s in-house media: “N’Golo’s impact and influence during his time at Chelsea cannot be overstated. His tireless performances in midfield contributed to several trophy wins and has guaranteed him a place in the club’s history. We wish him well as he embarks on the next chapter in his career.”

Now the France international has addressed Chelsea, its fans, players and staff after leaving.

“Goodbye Chelsea,” Kante begun.

“The time has come to open a new chapter in my career. But before doing so, it was important for me to thank the great and wonderful Chelsea family.

“Fans, players, directors, coaches, members of the medical staff, everyone who has supported me over the last seven seasons with this legendary club. So many fond memories, so many victories, so many titles won at your side.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’ll never forget you.

“I’d also like to thank my family, my close friends, who have always been by my side through good times and bad. Not forgetting my agent, Karim, and my advisers Rachid and Driss, who have been by my side with unfailing support since I started out. These last few months have not been easy for us and our families. But we’ve managed to stick together in the face of rumours and lies. They too have played a major role in my success.

“See you soon on the pitch for new adventures with Al Ittihad and Les Bleus.”
