Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has held talks with Paris Saint-Germain over the potential signing of Kylian Mbappe this summer, according to reports.

Speculation linking Mbappe to Chelsea has previously been shut down quickly, however transfer links have resurfaced, per reports from Duncan Castles.

Mbappe is for sale this summer after PSG made the decision to allow him to leave the Parc des Princes to avoid him leaving next summer at the end of his contract, with suspicion he is ready to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.

He has already rejected a transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal after they had a €300 million offer accepted by the French champions.

Chelsea have already signed Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson to bolster their frontline, which has seen Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang depart, with Romelu Lukaku, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech all set to depart.

Now it’s claimed that Boehly has held ‘direct discussions’ with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi over a transfer, with Chelsea ‘attempting to negotiate a cash-plus-player deal’ to bring Mbappe to the Premier League.

Head coach Mauricio Pochettino has previously worked with Mbappe during his time in Paris, and was quick to reduce any speculation after being quizzed on a potential move prior to their 1-1 draw against Newcastle United in pre-season.

“In our past we were at PSG,” said Pochettino. “I need to be conscious, I cannot talk because everything that you talk is too much noise, it is a very delicate situation and it is a situation they need to fix in Paris with Kylian, Kylian with PSG.

“But from our side, nothing to say. We are working in our reality, their reality is different – and they for sure have another reality.

“And from my side, nothing to say – only to support them and hope they find the best solution for both sides.”
