Unveiling date for Chelsea’s 2023/24 home kit revealed as front-of-shirt sponsor decision made
Chelsea will unveil their home kit for the 2023/24 season next week, however it will not be complete.
Over the past couple of days, Chelsea have been teasing their new shirt across their social media channels, with the latest coming on Saturday morning.
Leaked designs of the kit have already surfaced but the official launch has been delayed due to the club’s failure to strike an agreement over shirt sponsors after their three-year deal with Three came to an end on June 30.
The training range has already been released and now the kit will follow, with Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail confirming it will be unveiled on Monday (July 10).
However, it will be without a front-of-shirt sponsor. Ben Jacobs also reports there will be no sleeve sponsor. Talks are ongoing to find solutions, but a decision was made to launch now in order for fans to be able to get their hands on the latest release when the season starts next month.
Chelsea have been close to securing a front-of-shirt sponsor on several occasions this year for 2023-24. A deal was advanced to partner up with Paramount+, however the Premier League vetoed and the Blues were left to head back to the drawing board.
Online casino Stake were the next option and offered £40 million for a one-year deal. Chelsea suffered a backlash from supporters and, as a result, talks were ended leaving them without a sponsorship agreement.
It was also decided to bring out the new Nike kit without a sponsor to avoid further delays. It’s claimed that had they delayed the pre-ordering of the shirt any further until they secured a sponsor, fans would not have been able to buy the kit in time for the new season.
