“Amazing things here” – Nicolas Jackson’s first words after completing Chelsea transfer
Nicolas Jackson has spoken for the first time after he completed his summer transfer to Chelsea.
The 22-year-old joins from Villarreal and has penned a long-term contract until June 2031.
Chelsea have paid in excess of his €35 million release clause in order to pay the transfer off in preferable instalments.
He bolsters Mauricio Pochettino’s attack which has already signed Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig earlier this month.
Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley told the official Chelsea website: “We are excited to welcome Nicolas to Chelsea. He is a young player with big potential, as he showcased for Villarreal last season.
“We believe he is ready for this next step in his career and look forward to him working with our new head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, and his Chelsea teammates.”
Speaking for the first time during his media duties, Jackson said: “My name is Nicolas Jackson. People call me Jackson, or some people call me ‘Nics’.
“I feel I’m going to do amazing things here. Hope to see you soon at Stamford Bridge.”
