First pictures of Chelsea’s new €37m signing of ‘big potential’ forward Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal
Nicolas Jackson has had his first photos taken after signing for Chelsea from Villarreal.
The 22-year-old, who scored 12 La Liga goals during the 2022/23 season, completed his switch to Stamford Bridge which has seen him pen an eight-year deal until June 2031.
Chelsea will pay around €37 million for the Senegal international, with the club delighted to acquire Jackson ahead of the 2023/24 campaign to bolster their attack that has just acquired Christopher Nkunku.
Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley told the club’s in-house media: “We are excited to welcome Nicolas to Chelsea. He is a young player with big potential, as he showcased for Villarreal last season.
“We believe he is ready for this next step in his career and look forward to him working with our new head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, and his Chelsea teammates.”
Upon his arrival, Jackson said: “My name is Nicolas Jackson. People call me Jackson, or some people call me ‘Nics’.
“I feel I’m going to do amazing things here. Hope to see you soon at Stamford Bridge.”
