After having a bid accepted for Santos teenager Angelo Gabriel, Chelsea are already making plans over his future.

Chelsea reached an agreement with Brazilian side Santos to acquire the winger this summer for a €15 million, which is set to see Angelo pen a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge until June 2028.

Angelo, who has made 129 senior appearances for Santos, has already started to undergo his Chelsea medical, as reported by Vene Casagrande, ahead of finalising his move to England.

Chelsea have won the race for the 18-year-old and now plans for his development are in the works.

As reported by The Athletic, Chelsea plan to send Angelo on loan to feeder club and Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg, who they recently acquired a majority stake in.

RC Strasbourg have also been linked with a loan move for striker David Datro Fofana.

Angelo will join fellow Brazilian youngster Andrey Santos at Chelsea after the midfielder’s move from Vasco da Gama. He has now obtained a work permit and will be able to link up with Mauricio Pochettino‘s side for pre-season.

Barcelona had ‘preferential rights to equal any offer received’ for Angelo Gabriel, as revealed by The Athletic, but they are not expected to lodge any bid for the Brazilian.

He has a €60 million release clause in his Santos contract but Chelsea have managed to acquire him for a quarter of the price.

Chelsea are close to adding another player to their squad this summer. They have agreed a deal to sign Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson, while interest remains in Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

Chelsea’s planned summer clear-out is, so far, going to plan, with the likes of Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz all being sold.

Deals for Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Hakim Ziyech to be sold have been agreed and confirmation of their departures are expected in the coming days.
