Mauricio Pochettino was handed a quadruple boost on Friday ahead of Chelsea’s visit to Luton Town in the Premier League.

It was a late training session for Chelsea at Cobham on Friday before they boarded the team bus for their lunchtime kick off on Saturday afternoon at Kenilworth Road.

Chelsea are hoping to end Luton’s run of back-to-back wins in the league after the Hatters’ crucial victories against Newcastle United and Sheffield United.

Pochettino has had to deal with several key absences in recent games, including Enzo Fernandez who has been struggling with a hernia issue.

It remains unclear if Enzo will make the squad versus Luton, however he was involved in training on Friday at Cobham, offering Pochettino a boost.

Mykhailo Mudryk also picked up a knock on Wednesday night against Crystal Palace and was assessed by the medical team ahead of facing Luton. He was involved in Friday’s session too which suggests he could be ready to start.

Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka are nearing returns from lengthy absences. Both continued on the grass on Friday in another fitness boost for Pochettino ahead of the New Year.

“While the focus was on Luton for the majority of those involved in the session, Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka were out on the grass as they continued their respective recoveries from injury,” read the official Chelsea website.

Pochettino will welcome back Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling, both of whom missed the Crystal Palace win due to suspension.
