Confirmed: When Mauricio Pochettino will hold first Chelsea press conference as head coach
Mauricio Pochettino will hold his first press conference as Chelsea head coach on Friday afternoon, it has been confirmed.
The 51-year-old has almost completed his first week in charge of Chelsea after beginning work at their Cobham training ground on Monday, before taking his first training session on Tuesday as the players started to report back for pre-season.
Pochettino has already carried out his first interview with the club’s in-house media team, and will now be unveiled to the rest of the media at Stamford Bridge on Friday (July 7), Chelsea have now confirmed.
“Pochettino will speak to the media at Stamford Bridge today to talk the gathered journalists through his first week on the job and his aims for the future,” Chelsea said.
The Argentine is scheduled to speak from 2.30pm (UK) and it will be available to watch live on all of Chelsea’s digital channels.

Pochettino is likely to be asked about why he took the Chelsea job, his plans and hopes, the club’s transfer business and much more as he embarks on a new chapter in his managerial career.
It comes ahead of Chelsea flying out to the United States for their pre-season tour later this month. Chelsea face Wrexham, Brighton & Hove Albion, Newcastle United, Fulham and Borussia Dortmund in preparation to begin their 2023/24 campaign.
Pochettino has already made a promise to the fans to produce a side they can be proud of.
‘What we can promise is to work hard and defend this shirt until the end,” Pochettino said earlier this week. “We are going to try do to everything for them to feel proud and to show that we really, really care. That is what we can promise.”
