Inter Milan & Newcastle United put on alert as Chelsea willing to ‘listen to offers’ for duo

Chelsea are open to selling two more players this summer following a mass overhaul which has already seen many high-profile names depart.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s side planned to offload a large number of players to trim the bloated squad, which exceeded 30 last season, and they have got off to a good start.

The sales of Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz has seen Chelsea bring in more than £200 million and several other departures are expected.

A deal for Christian Pulisic to join AC Milan is close to being finalised, while Hakim Ziyech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are also expected to depart Chelsea this summer.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has also asked to leave the club following his return from his loan spell in Germany at Bayer Leverkusen. Nottingham Forest, Fulham and AC Milan have all shown interest. West Ham have also monitored the winger.

Now two further players could be heading for the exit doors at Stamford Bridge. As reported by Simon Johnson of The Athletic, Chelsea ‘will listen to offers’ for Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah.

Gallagher has been linked with Newcastle United but it has been previously claimed that Chelsea’s valuation, reportedly around £50 million, has put Eddie Howe’s side off.

Chalobah’s future is also unclear; Inter Milan, who are also interested in Romelu Lukaku, have held talks with Chelsea over the versatile defender.

Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio revealed earlier this week that Lukaku is wanted and talks are ongoing over how they can strike a deal, with Chelsea not ready to sanction another loan move.

“I don’t like to talk about timing, but about ideas,” said Ausilio, as quoted by Football Italia. “Lukaku is an idea of ours, but he is a Chelsea-owned player. The dialogue never stopped with them, we know he cannot be handed to us for a second season on loan, so we are evaluating if it is possible to buy him outright.

“He knows full well that we want to bring him back here, we’ll see if we can find the solution with Chelsea.”
