Enzo Fernandez on dream opportunity, taking Chelsea to next level, trophies & new teammates

Enzo Fernandez has now spoken in depth for the first time since he signed for Chelsea last month.

Chelsea managed to acquire the 22-year-old in a £106.8 million deal from Benfica in the final minutes on Tuesday night before the January deadline, completing their eighth and last signing of the winter window.

He penned a long-term deal at Stamford Bridge until June 2031 and will wear the number five shirt at Chelsea, taking over from Jorginho who departed to London rivals Arsenal.

Fernandez’s arrival pleased Graham Potter, who told reporters: “I’m very pleased because we’ve got a fantastic player and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

The World Cup winner has already been lauded by new teammate Noni Madueke following his switch and the midfielder has now revealed what he will bring to Chelsea, what he hopes to achieve at the club, and why he chose the Blues.
