Graham Potter has hailed trio Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz and Enzo Fernandez after Chelsea were rewarded with a 3-1 victory over Leicester City in the Premier League.

Chelsea claimed their third win in a row in all competitions with a convincing win at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon to inflict Leicester to their fourth league defeat in a row.

Goals from Chilwell, Havertz and Mateo Kovacic sealed a 3-1 win for the Blues who clinched their first away league win since October.

It caps off a perfect week for Graham Potter who has eased the pressure and guided Chelsea on a winning run ahead of one more game against Everton before the international break at the end of the month.

The 47-year-old was delighted for his team who soaked up the full-time celebrations in front of the travelling supporters in the Midlands.

Here’s what the Chelsea head coach had to say following another win for the Blues.

Win over Leicester City

Speaking to Chelsea TV, Potter said: “The team’s spirit is developing nicely, there’s a nice togetherness in the group, nice mentality. You need that when you come away. It wasn’t a straightforward game. We had to fight, suffer, have a bit of luck which you need sometimes.

“There is a difference that a week makes. Results help things, it develops belief and confidence. Really pleased for the players because they’ve had a tough period but they’ve been rewarded with a really positive week.

“The mentality was good, then the quality shone through in the end.”

Ben Chilwell’s goal

“It was a fantastic strike. Ben was getting a bit of stick and it’s the best way to answer that. Fantastic goal, it settled us a little bit.”

Kai Havertz’s performance and goal

“He’s in a really good place. Throughout the difficult period he’s given everything. When you know you’ve got Kai’s quality if you do that, things turnaround for you. That’s what it’s done for him. It’s a reward for his hard work.”

Enzo Fernandez

Speaking in his post-match press conference, captured by Hayters TV, the Chelsea boss said: “He’s a fantastic player, a young player. He’s going to get better and better as he’s with us more because he’s just arrived from another country and another league so you always have to adapt to that.

“But you can see his quality, he gets the ball, he can pass forward, he’s progressive with his mentality, gets the team moving and then gives everything. It’s a nice combination to have.”
