Graham Potter has come under-fire from Chelsea’s supporters and now he is being criticised by family members of the squad.

After Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to bottom-of-the-table Southampton on Saturday, it was the final straw for the Stamford Bridge faithful who booed the team off at full-time to voice their frustrations at the team who have not won any of their previous five games in all competitions.

Chelsea are currently in 10th place and two wins from 14 in the Premier League have seen Potter come under huge pressure and scrutiny from fans, but the hierarchy remain unmoved.

The Chelsea owners are continuing to back Potter through the difficult period after spending £20 million to bring him to the club back in September on a five-year contract from Brighton & Hove Albion.

It’s claimed the players are still behind Potter despite the alarming and worrying form, which sees Chelsea 16th in the form table from the last 14 matches. During that time, Chelsea have collected just 12 points (W2, D6, L6).

Potter has given the squad two days off on Sunday and Monday before returning on Tuesday to Cobham to prepare for their London derby against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

Thiago Silva, who has been a consistent stand-out for Chelsea, was rested against Southampton to avoid risk of injury, has posted on social media of him in his home gym preparing for the fierce clash on Sunday.

The 38-year-old also recently signed a new one-year extension to remain at Chelsea for the 2023/24 season.

Silva was very close with former head coach Thomas Tuchel following their time at PSG together prior to making the switch to England. His wife, Belle, was also very fond of the German coach and expressed her disappointment at his Stamford Bridge departure earlier this season.

At the time, she wrote: “Thank you so much @TTuchelofficial for years of partnership. You’re a giant. Good luck in everything you do… always.”

Now, with pressure increasing on Potter, she has liked a tweet on Twitter on Monday afternoon – at the time of writing yet, she is yet to unlike – which has slammed the current Blues boss for his mentality and asked for Silva to coach Chelsea.

The initial tweet read: “Can u ask silva to coach our club himself because we have a deadbeat tacticless coach who doesn’t know what he is doing, he doesn’t even understand this is Chelsea football club he thinks he is still at Brighton.”
