First Chelsea star breaks silence with emotional two-word message after Mason Mount to Man United agreed
Trevoh Chalobah has reacted to the news of Chelsea and Manchester United agreeing a fee for Mason Mount.
After three rejected bids, Man United were successful with their fourth offer for Mount, who will now undergo a medical and finalise personal terms ahead of a move to Old Trafford.
Chelsea have agreed to sell their academy graduate, who has just one year left remaining on his contract, for £55 million plus £5 million in add-ons.
As reported by Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph, Mason Mount will earn £250,000-a-week, plus bonuses that could earn him up to £300,000-a-week, once he joins Man United. He will sign a five-year deal, with the option of a further year.
Mount will follow fellow Chelsea academy product Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who is on the verge of joining AC Milan, out of the door this summer.
Chelsea are undergoing a clear-out and the Blues could see as many as 15 players depart, with Mauricio Pochettino set to begin working with his players when they report back to their Cobham training base next Tuesday for the start of pre-season.
One player who has seen many of his long-time friends leave is defender Trevoh Chalobah, who is the subject of interest from Inter Milan.
He reacted to the news of Mount being close to leaving with a two-word post on Twitter.
Mount will return from his holidays and head to Man United’s Carrington training base to complete his transfer up north before official confirmation is provided.
He departs Chelsea having won the club’s Player of the Year award in back-to-back seasons, the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup.
