Ruben Loftus-Cheek is close to finalising his summer transfer to AC Milan after an initial £15 million deal was agreed with Chelsea.

The 27-year-old will end his 19-year stay at Stamford Bridge and make the switch to Italy. He is expected to sign a four-year contract with the Rossoneri.

Following weeks of talks, which were then put on hold following the dismissals of directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, AC Milan reached an agreement over a £15 million plus add-ons fee for Loftus-Cheek.

He will move to the Serie A and link up with former Chelsea academy product Fikayo Tomori, who joined Milan in January 2021.

Loftus-Cheek will now finalise his move this week, as confirmed by Mike McGrath of the Daily Telegraph. The midfielder, who has been capped 10 times for England, will undergo his Milan medical on Thursday before putting pen to paper.

He will join the midfield overhaul at Chelsea this summer which has seen N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic already sold. Kai Havertz will join Arsenal and Mason Mount is set to have his future resolved in the coming weeks amid interest from Manchester United.

Chelsea are interested in signing Moises Caicedo and talks with Brighton & Hove Albion, who have already rejected a £60 million bid, are set to resume this week.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will report back to their Cobham training base from next Tuesday to begin preparations for the 2023/24 campaign. They will fly out to the United States for their tour of America next month.
