Chelsea boss Graham Potter has revealed his plans for the players that have not travelled to Dortmund in the Champions League.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was excluded from the squad despite being the Blues’ joint-top scorer in the competition this season.

Furthermore, with Chelsea making eight signings in the January transfer window, the Blues did not have space to register all of the new faces.

Enzo Fernandez, Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk were selected to join the Champions League squad as only three new players were allowed to be registered.

This left the likes of Noni Madueke, David Datro Fofana and Benoit Badiashile out of the squad to face Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.

They will also be unavailable for selection in Europe for the rest of the season, with Potter knowing who is eligible in the competition.

Speaking to the press ahead of Chelsea’s clash in Germany, Potter revealed the plan for the players that have been excluded from the squad, and discussed who remained in London as the Blues travelled for the clash.

“They trained today (Tuesday) with the group,” Potter said when asked about those that are not in the squad.

“They’ll be free tomorrow (Wednesday) and watch the game then we are back and train on Thursday.
