Todd Boehly has been making his way around Chelsea’s training facilities this week ahead of their Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Chelsea co-owner has offered his backing this week to head coach Graham Potter after their dismal 1-0 defeat to Southampton, which resulted in loud boos from the Stamford Bridge faithful on Saturday evening.

Frustrations are clear in the Chelsea camp with the whole club looking to improve their current form, however Potter retains the backing of the owners, who appointed him last September on a five-year contract.

“I’ve been under pressure here for four months,” stated Potter. “That continues. They’ve been great (the owners). They see where we’re at, but also frustrated. We have to do better.”

It was claimed that crisis talks were held on Tuesday with the sporting department – Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali weren’t there -, and Potter joked about the meeting after arrive late to his Friday press conference to preview their clash against Spurs.

“Sorry I’m late guys, I’ve just come out of a crisis meeting!” joked the 47-year-old.

One reporter instantly replied, saying: “How was it?”. Potter said: “Well, I’m still here!”

It’s a big week for Chelsea who are in dire need of a win, particularly for their supporters who are increasing the noise and pressure on the team and Potter.

The Chelsea head coach knows only results on the pitch can do the talking to win the fans over. Ahead of the game, he said: “I wouldn’t say anything. I’m not here to convince them. My actions and the team have to convince them. We’ve got to win football matches. There’s nothing I can say.”

With Boehly in constant communication with Potter and his staff, he was also seen watching training, while in high spirits, on Friday with the head coach as matchday nears this weekend.

Boehly will be in attendance in north London on Sunday, it has been reported, and will hope to see Chelsea win for the first time in six matches in all competitions.
