Graham Potter will be hoping to have Denis Zakaria available to face Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon, however Christian Pulisic and Raheem Sterling will remain sidelined.

Chelsea are looking to end a run of three successive defeats in all competitions when the Eagles make the trip across the capital to Stamford Bridge.

They are currently in 10th place and are in desperate need of a win after claiming just two victories from their previous 11 games in all competitions. Chelsea come into this game following a 2-1 defeat to Fulham.

Potter wants a win to relieve the pressure and knows questions will always be asked if results aren’t delivered at a top club like Chelsea.

Ahead of the London derby, as quoted by Scott Trotter, he admitted: There are always questions if you don’t get the results. I was under pressure after two defeats before the World Cup break – and that is from the media.

“In terms of the board, I’ve had full support but I am not naive. If anybody that I work for thinks the problem lies with me then they have every right to say, ‘Thank you very much but it’s not working’. I accept that.”

However, he will have to do with a load of injury absences which have mounted up, as well as the suspension to new loan arrival Joao Felix.

Here is the latest Chelsea team news for their clash against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.

Absentees

Edouard Mendy (finger), Reece James (knee), Ben Chilwell (hamstring), Wesley Fofana (knee), N’Golo Kante (hamstring), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (now ill after calf problem) and Armando Broja (ACL) all remain sidelined.

Updates on attacking trio and Denis Zakaria

Denis Zakaria was forced off during the defeat to Fulham on Thursday, but the extent of his injury remains unclear over whether he will be available to face Crystal Palace.

Potter said post-match: “The only assessment is it’s at the top of the quad. He felt it when he cleared the ball. In terms of the extent, it’s too early to say.”

Raheem Sterling (hamstring) and Christian Pulisic (knee) are both out until at least February, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is available despite being an unused substitute against Fulham after returning from a tight back.

“Christian is a couple of months, we think, hopefully a little less,” revealed Potter earlier this week.

Felix is also out after he was sent off on his Chelsea debut on Thursday night at Craven Cottage.
